Made just for your kid

For the kid learning to get back up.

Your story idea. We write and illustrate the book.

A page from a personalized PlotJoys keepsake

This is Maya’s book. Yours will be a different story entirely.

A book for the wobbly days — proof, on paper, that they get back up.

A villain for every big feeling

A villain for every big feeling

Frost brags. Gust roars. Shade makes things disappear. Every villain is a feeling your kid already knows — and some lessons land better as an adventure than a lecture.

The lesson they carry: get back up

The lesson they carry: get back up

Knocked flat, Maya stands and walks straight into the wind — one step, then another. Your child watches themselves do the hard thing, and that picture outlasts any pep talk.

Even the quiet fears

Even the quiet fears

Not every worry roars. Shade whispers — and Maya faces him too. A story that meets your kid where the big feelings actually live.

What Parents Are Saying

The illustrations are impressive, and the storyline was surprisingly rich given how little information I provided. My wife and I were very impressed.

Ayaz · Father

We even put their favorite stuffies — Piglet and Linabelle — in the story!

Chloe & Chelsea · Sisters

She finished reading and immediately started creating her own story — she said she wants to go to a princess world!

Serena's mom · Mother

He was so excited and engaged — actively searching through every page, clearly thrilled that the little kid in the story was him!

Jasper's mom · Mother of a 5-year-old

Since the printed copy arrived this afternoon, she's only read it five or six times.

Emma's mom · Mother of a 6-year-old

The character even looks like her, which made it feel so real. And now we have something that helps her process what she's learning… in a way that's fun and familiar.

Isla's Mom · Mother

Questions, answered

How does it work?

Think of PlotJoys as your personal story studio. You upload photos of your child, tell us the adventure — themes, lessons, what makes them special — and you're in charge of every creative decision. Kids can even help direct their own story. Behind the scenes, your direction becomes a complete, original story — written and illustrated from scratch for your child, then reviewed by our team until every page meets our bar. A one-of-a-kind book like this used to take weeks and cost thousands — out of reach for most families. PlotJoys makes it possible in days, at a price every family can afford. And if anything isn't perfect, we'll edit until you love it — unlimited revisions, or your money back.

How is PlotJoys different from other personalized children's books?

Most personalized books drop your child's name into a fixed story — every kid gets the same plot. PlotJoys writes a brand-new story from scratch for your family: your child as the hero, your themes, your moments. The illustrations are made just for that story, not pulled from a library. Even the parts working behind the scenes — concept, writing, art — are handled by separate specialists, the way a real studio would. The fastest way to feel the difference is to flip through a few real ones on our Discover page.

How long does it take to get my story?

Every PlotJoys story is written and illustrated from scratch — your idea, your child, your way. Your story is ready in about 2 days. We take the time because quality matters.

What ages is this for?

PlotJoys is for anyone with a child they love and a story worth keeping — parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, godparents. The books are written for children ages 2-6, with vocabulary and themes tuned to their developmental stage. Some adults even order one about themselves. Whoever the story is for, we write it from scratch around them.

Can I get a printed book?

Yes! You can order a premium hardcover — about 8×11 inches, bigger than a standard picture book — perfect for gifting or keeping as a treasured keepsake. It's included with our Concierge package, or available as an upgrade after your digital storybook.

What makes a good personalized storybook gift?

The best personalized storybooks go beyond inserting a name. Look for three things: the child illustrated as the hero matching their real appearance, a story tailored to their interests and personality, and quality illustrations and narrative. With PlotJoys, the gift-giver directs the story — 'she loves dinosaurs and is learning to share' becomes a unique adventure starring their child.
